If the 5930K or 5960X are out question than I recommend the 5820K. I would however also buy a R9 390X and a closed loop water cooler to OC the CPU to 4.0-4.2GHz. As for the GH4 footage, try transcoding it with Catalyst Browse or Prepare to XAVC-Intra as this is a much better format for Vegas.

If you're in no big hurry, it might be worth reading about the Broadwell E. The specs of the Broadwell-E are on the street. It's a die shrink to 14 nm rather than a big architectural change.

If you don't care about being on the bleeding edge, you might start to see some price pressure on the current Socket 2011 processors in the next few months. I'm already seeing ads.
