New computer build for Vegas 11 news

Ok here is my update after building a machine for vegas.
Basically I built the videoguys machine right here http://www.videoguys.com/Guide/E/Videoguys+DIY9+Its+Time+for+Sandy+Bridge+E/0xe9b142f408a2b03ab88144a434e88de7.aspx
Mine is the diy 8 in yellow. I did go with a bigger processor but same setup. After installing win7 pro and vegas I don't see much of a performance change on frames dropping on cuts and fades on footage (raw dslr from camera). Still get stuttering on good half/best half. Sporadic stuttering. If you run the same file over and over it will stop stuttering like it had finally caught up. Strange. I am using seagate drives in raid config off board as well. I am wondering if this is vegas or something else?

perhaps try putting the files on a non-raid drive, just to take raid out of the equation. i also think that having an ssd boot drive will improve overall performance.

and, check your memory settings re: buffers, preview... there's quite a bit of tweaking with vegas settings discussed here to get smoother playback.

videoguys said that that system would be stutter-free? have you talked to them since you got the initial info?

i'm thinking about building basically the same rig. where did you buy the parts, newegg? did it come with written instructions? i've watched their videos, and i know i can do the assembly, but my main worry is that i won't know what cables i have/need/where to route them.

best...

I just spoke with videoguys again and they gave me some suggestions. Might be the raid setup. They have no problems with their build and I gotta say Rick and the guys are very cool. : ) If ya need anything? Call them. I got my stuff from microcenter.
It is really easy dlion to get her up and running cable wise. You will be fine. ; )

I'd love to see that puppy running CS6.

Nobody knows (officially) what rendering will be like using CS6 but I can tell you that rendering videos with CS5.5 is about 3 to 4 times faster than with Vegas Pro 11.

No the processor is i7 2600k 3.40 ghz not 3820. Ram is Ballistix by crucial from microcenter

I downloaded adobe c5.5 to see if it would stutter and it plays frames perfect. Hmmm.
Go figure.
