I think Vegas uses whichever fonts you've got in Windows.

Correct. Look for the Fonts folder (usually on the C drive in the the same folder as Windows). Copy and paste the needed fonts into the Fonts folder and you're all set.

...ermmmm . . think we've been here before: True Type only, I seem to remember. Others formats won't get a look in!

Hmmm… on my XP system it sees TrueType, OpenType, and Adobe fonts. I just checked and pretty much everything in my \Windows\Fonts directory shows up in the Vegas text tool.
