so I just got on board with Vegas 5, love it so far. one small weird problem though. I have an .avi file that doesn't load the audio when I import the darn thing. the audio plays with windows media layer and in the cursed adobe premier however it won't load in Vegas 5. I have had no problem loading other .avi's into Vegas 5. just this one darn file. any suggestions? BTW this is the trial version and I do intend to get the full registered version within the 30 days.

Basically AVI is just a container - the video within it could be many different formats (codecs). You need to find out what the AVI's contain - you may be able to see this from within Premier or other tools. Once you find this out you can probably find out what codec you need to install for Vegas to work with them properly.

Where did they come from anyway?

Could this be something do with the codec that you have to register with the full version? is that the mpeg encocer? I don't remember, its been a while since I installed....
