New install, added VST directories, crashed...now can't run at all

First off, I've been using Vegas since the Sony days. So I just installed Movie Studio 17 Platinum. Edited a quick video, and added audio. Via options, I added two VST directories, one from Program Files added successfully. When adding the another from Program Files(x86) - for 32 bit plugins - Movie Studio crashed to the desktop.

Now I can't get it to run period, even after uninstalling / rebooting / reinstalling. After a fresh install, the splash screen shows it scanning the VST directories above, then it chokes/stops at "Initializing Device Explorer..." and I get the Problem Report pop up. I even tried deleting the folder Users\me\AppData\Local\Movie Studio Platinum.

Can anyone help here? (more info below)

OP here again. I got it to run again by renaming the two VST directories, therefore it skipped the 2 directories on startup and didn't choke on whatever VST it might not like.

I have some old school stuff, like Direct X and other funky (legally owned) plugins - are there any limitations to what Movie Studio 17 is compatible with? I just went with my 64 bit ones for now and everything seems cool.
