New machine - trial expired - how to activate?

I installed 8.0c trial on my new workstation, testing it not relying on it initially. Trial has expired. Wasn't familiar with the migration process - now I appreciate the license condition allowed immediate registration under my existing serial number. I understand now all I had to do was register the new machine under my existing serial number to get an activation code for it.

BUT because the trial has expired, the only option Vegas gives me is to "Buy".

Is there a workaround, e.g. to get it to prompt me for my serial?

What happens when you click on "Buy"? I'm guessing that should pop up a screen where you can enter your serial number.

Help > Enter Your Serial Number ought to do the trick.

Aha, it indeed asked me for serial then it registered OK. I am not in my brightest state at the moment it seems. Maybe last time I tried it the store website came up and that's all I looked at. Maybe the powers of observation were not quite there either.
