Conclusion - spin control pure and simple.

What support? SF has already stated that there will be no more drive
support for CD Architect.

If I'm not mistaken, CD Architect supports all MMC compatible atapi
and SCSI drives. You may have to set it up manually, though. JUst go
to the advanced tab and select MMC Compatible (either scsi or atapi)
and then tell the program what speeds the drive supports. As long as
you get an MMC compatible drive (and Plextors ARE, I believe) you
don't need an update of CD Architect.

Pardon me if I don't put a lot of faith in that statement since I've
been waiting since March for a promised device driver update to
support the Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI for one of my customers.

From reading the messages on this forum, I think one thing that would
help would be for SF to define "technical support" does this mean new
drive support or just support for drives supported in Ver g and
earlier - most of which are now discontinued; or in other words no
support?

You have to understand my position as a dealer, I had to refund 6
customers the price of CD Architect, plus 4 the cost of Sound Forge,
and return them to distribution at a 35% restocking fee for open SW,
because you all decided to orphan CD Architect.

Even Microsoft leaves you a way out! SF just left us hanging. Of
course we're mad.
