[NEW PLUGIN FOR FREE] Upcoming Release of Periodic Motion OFX Plugin

hello, Vegas Forum, I will be releasing a new version of my Mz_TransformOFX plugin this weekend.

This week, I further modified Natron's openfx-misc so that it can complete periodic motions (circles, lines, curves, triangles, polygons, five-pointed stars, etc.) and even support the Bezier curves of motion.

Here's an early test video:

These are built-in curve presets, all done with Bezier curves. If you want to adjust the Bezier curve manually, select "Custom" and adjust P1 & P2.

It's just a preview. I'll probably release it tomorrow or the day after. If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment below this thread.

@zzzzzz9125 That my friend, is a very, very handy animation tool to have in Vegas, for saving a ton of time in creating smooth animations etc.... There are many scripts available for After effects that can do these animations in AE, but this seems like it can knock a couple of them out the park right here in Vegas....... Cant wait to give it a try and see!

Mz_TransformOFX is provided as part of MisczOFX.

Unzip it, place the Miscz.ofx.bundle folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\ and then restart Vegas.

Some Notes:

For materials with a different Aspect ratio than project, you must first Match Output Aspect within Pan/Crop. Otherwise, the center position will be problematic. Of course, Track FX is not affected by this issue.

For materials whose Center is not in the center of the screen, just specify its Center in Mz_TransformOFX to make it move around the center correctly.

@m3lquixd @Sadlylate @Steve_Rhoden I've posted the latest version on the Github's Release page. You can just download MisczOFX_v.1.3.0_English.exe and run it. Or if you want to install it manually, you can download the .zip file, that's fine.

There is a slight issue with the just-released DropBox version, where you can't switch curves by keyframing Curve Type. The latest version fixes this. The new one also adds a curve preset called "Default" with Bezier point values of (0.50, 0.00, 0.50, 1.00) instead of using "Linear" as the default.

One thing I don't understand is why is it so heavy? It causes a lot of lag in Vegas, since it's just a few files, I thought it would be something lighter. s_BlurMoCurves, which is part of a very large plugin package, does not cause any lag when using it?
@zzzzzz9125 Why does it happen?

@m3lquixd Since it was modified from open-misc, I just added the code related to periodic motion, and I didn't do anything else. When the "Impulse" Filter is unselected or a little bit of motion blur is enabled, it will cause a lot of lag. In Mz_TransformOFX, I've changed the default Filter option to make it look less awkward. My guess is that Natron's Misc isn't optimized for Vegas, and there's nothing I can do about it.

If you want to test the official version:

Download the .zip installation package from the Natron official website: https://natrongithub.github.io/
Go to ...\Plugins\OFX\Natron\Misc.ofx.bundle and move it to the OFX path. Restart Vegas.
Find TransformOFX in Video FX, so you can see the same thing in the official version of misc.

It would be nice if someone could help because I don't have any experience optimizing plugin code, which is why my plugin is free, and Sapphire costs money. 😇

Version 1.3.2 has been released! New to this version is a feature called Function, where you can input function expressions to draw function paths!

(BGM was so good, I couldn't stop recording it...)
