New problem with video levels

You guys are going to think me certifiable, but I need your help to undo, what you helped me to do (post #36 - 11/14/08).

Using my computer monitor, I thought part of the video was too dark, so I went about using FX-Levels to lighten those parts. After burning a disc and playing it on my HD widescreen TV, I realized that it was now too light and the original camera setting were right.

I went back and deselected each FX-Levels setting and watched as the time line video darken. I than saved the file and rendered it. When I open the file in Architect, the time line still looked darken, as it should.

Here’s the problem - when I burned the disc and played it on the TV, it looked light just like the first one, as if the changes never took place. What am I missing? If it looks like a duck in Vegas and looks like a duck in Architect, it should burn like a duck!

Thanks in advance.

Dave

In the DVD Architect burn wizard, did you select "Prepare current project" or "Burn previously prepared project"? It's likely that the latter was selected by default, and you clicked Next without noticing. In this case, you would have burned exactly the same DVD as last time rather than re-preparing the new project.

You hit it right on the nose. That is exactly what the problem was. I didn't even know there was a choice. Thanks you very much for your help.

Strange thing - even though your idea helped. When I modified the levels further, the changes still refuse to ripple through to the DVD. I’m out of the woods on this project, but I hope I wake up in the middle of the night with an explanation.

Render the video again but give it and the AC-3 files new names.
Do the same thing (new name) in DVD Architect - and then cross your fingers and toes :-)
