You would really like the chase scene in The Bourne Supremacy if you haven't already seen it. My second favorite next to The French Connection.

I actually liked the first movie (Bourne Identity) better. The second movie had WAY too much hand-held for my tastes. In fact, when it was in theaters, many viewers -- including my then-17-year-old daughter, who is fazed by nothing -- actually experienced motion sickness from the amount of random camera movement (check out user comments on IMDB and search for "camera." Lots of comments and complaints about this). Also, the editing was not consistent. In certain sections (of Bourne Supremacy, the second one), there was frantic cutting, and then suddenly the camera was quiet again, often without regard to the story or the action.

But, you are right. The chase scenes in "Supremacy" were very good indeed, despite the failures in the rest of the film. "The Italian Job" also had some good chases. However, what made "French Connection" so unbelievably great was the purpose behind each cut. The dozen cuts during the portion when he almost nails the mother with the baby carriage is probably the closest to edit heaven that an editor has ever experienced. Even Eisenstein ("Potyomkin") must have been looking up from his grave and smiling.
