New System Sound Card Problem

A friend just had a new system built and I'm trying to assist him in getting his Echo Gina 20 to work. The drivers just aren't showing up after install and Echo support has not been able to give him any real help (which is very unusal in my experience). The guy who built his system also has tried everything he knows to no avail. I convinced my friend (a newbee) to download the Vegas demo and I REALLY want him to get this thing happening. Any help would be appreciated.

System:
XP Home w/ SP1, Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo, AMD Athlon 2600, nVidia nForce2 chipset, 512 Ram, 60 gig IBM 7200 HD, Echo Gina 20 bit card (he has tried every driver available). The system runs great in every respect except we can't get the Echo driver to show up even though it appears to install properly.

The ONLY one suitable for the 20bit Gina I saw listed was the 6.05 beta.
Did he try un-installing previous Echo drivers before installing the 6.05 beta?

Thanks Myst. Yes he did this. Even went into the registry and deleted everything related to Echo and reinstalled 6.05 beta. Didn't help. If he can't get the Gina happening with this setup, what would you (or anyone else) recommend for a new card that would be compatible with this mobo and chipset? Thanks again!

This might be a stupid question, and I apologize if it is, but... When the pop-up window came up saying the selected driver hadn't passed the Microsoft compatibility test(or whatever it's called) did he accept and continue, or stop.
Also, if you could get hold of Rednroll, he has two Gina 20bits I believe running in XP. He might be able to help.
I also suggest renaming this thread "Gina 20bit with XP-Configuration??"

PS: He did select the Gina in the Windows control panel, right? Or is it not showing up there? Did he check out the listed devices in Windows to see if the Gina showed up there? Is it not showing, or is there a question mark beside it?

He checked everything and the driver is just not showing up. No question mark. Its like it isn't there at all. We think that this is a chipset incompatibility issue but we can't confirm it. Echo said that "sometimes it works fine and sometimes it doesn't." Now there's an example of some helpful expertise for you!! ;-O
