New to Vegas Movie Studio

I was given a Vegas Movie Studio version 9. I realize it's not the latest version, but I want to know how to do a few simple tasks. I want to put some pictures to music (I can do that) but I want to add some text to some of the pictures. Can someone type out step by step instructions as to how to do this?

Thanks!

The text generators in Vegas are user friendly and self-explanatory; drag one to the uppermost track and proceed.

All of the instructions are at the top of the Vegas window in the Interactive Tutorials.
There are video tutorials on Youtube, Creative Cow, elsewhere.
There is a huge knowledgebase on this site.
There are books on Amazon and elsewhere.

If, after seeking out the resources already available, you have some specific questions, feel free to post back, and your peers will be glad to help.

The two biggest blunders "newbies" make with text are to use a template with a solid background and to place the text on the same track as the video. Make sure you pick a preset that has a transparent background; they'll show checkerboard backgrounds in the media generator window. Also place it on a track ABOVE the pictures, otherwise it will replace the pictures instead of letting them show through.

And if you're looking for some free Basic Training tutorials, I've created a series that you can access on the left side of this page.

You'll find one on creating titles in there too.
