New to Vegas Movie Studio 13, lots of crashes and studdering

I've used Sony Movie Studio 12 for a couple of years, and just upgraded to Vegas 13 today. Every attempt to edit a video results in verry choppy preview (at the same settings i had in SMS 12) or it quickly goes unresponsive and crashes. I looked to see if there were any way to update, but did not find anything. Any thoughts?

Build 967 64-bit.

But like i said, when trying to use the same settings i had with 12, 13 just refuses to work up to par, or at all. Trying to have the preview do 19x10 at 60fps. Again, had no problems doing this with 12, unless there is some setting somewhere that i forgot where to find it, i've mirrored all the settings i can find with no success.

try using the last SCS build 955 http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/

Build 967 (Magix) possibly has some bugs

So i tried going back to the last build. Still no joy. It seemed to work for a short bit, but i guess there is something i'm doing edit wise that this program does not agree with as opposed to what i could do in 12. Looks like i'm just gna stick with 12 until 14 releases and it is hopefully better. On a side note, i used my laptop to edit a vid last week and it worked flawlessly, but it has Win10, so that might be a factor.

Platinum 13.0 Build 955, on Surface Book with MS 10: Trying to adjust length of multiple media events: selected all, clicked on Edit>Group, but Create New is greyed out. What next, please?
