New to VMS 10.0 but not Editing

Getting back into video editing after some time. Last program used was Premiere Elements 2,0 and before that Premiere 5.0 with a Miro DC-30 capture card. You remember those days, super VHS and all the fun getting the video off the 8 mm camcorder and into the computer. Everything had to be just so, right motherboard, right processor, enough memory and right video card to work with Premiere or it would crash.

Elements was more or less a big improvement, now using newer Sony DV camera. Using Firewire capture was a dream come true. But Premiere Elements was a memory hog still.

When I downloaded Sony Vegas HD Studio Platinum 11.0 I thought it would not run on my 6 year old XP computer. But surprise it worked decent enough that I purchased the program. the older version 10.0 just to make sure it would work without a major upgrade to my system. Its very close in interface to the other Adobe programs that I don’t expect a major learning curve. In fact I am working on my grandsons 1st birthday video right now.

I have been reading here for a long time, mistake Sony makes is not letting the trial software people post or reply to posts. I might of purchased 11.0 or at least sooner. Anyway its nice to be reading and learning from such knowledgeable people

Welcome to the forums! Or rather, welcome to being able to POST on the forums.

You are right that there are lots of knowledgeable, helpful people here. And a fair number of people from the Vegas Pro boards that drop by here on the VMS forum to help out.

The depth and breadth of experience on these forums -- in all kinds of disciplines -- is amazing.
