Thank goodness and glad able to help :)

Actually I was thinking something else that probably the 'new' plugin probably failed to be loaded, just like MP3 cases was. That's why I immediately checking out what file i/o plugin is used for this ProRes, and surprisingly found - so4!

And that takes me to possible of case of being disabled (due to past stability issues)

I don't think this is an update problem. It looks like you moved the veg file to a different folder and now it can't find the media (or the opposite- the media moved). Help Vegas find one file and it should be ablIe to find the rest.

Nope, I haven't moved anything. I direct SV to the exact same file, still there in the exact same location and it won't load it. It loaded fine yesterday and all the days before that before this update. It is 100% caused by this update I can assure you

This is not the error Vegas gives when it can't load a file. This is the error Vegas gives when it can't find a file.

Please go up to the media in your project, find a Magix Intermediate file and drag it to the timeline. What happens? Or reimport the same media ("import", find the media and then drag it to the timeline).

If it works for one you may be able to use the "replace media" feature to swap out old for new.

422 isn't the highest quality ProRes and Vegas doesn't really care which one it is. The highest quality ones have ridiculously high file sizes and play back poorly, though.

Thank you for trying to help. Just as an aside referring to your comment - what is the best quality setting? I'm doing a 7min 4k video with several channels overlapping as well. It's too big for one complete file so I do what I call 'sub-mixes' and divide it up into 5 workable sections. I then render those to sit in the master file. After watching videos (I think scrapyard was the one I followed here) I got the impression the mov files and this 422 HQ intermediate was the best quality and the best lossless format for me to use. Is there a better loseless option for my 4k video i could be using to render my 'sub-mixes'

Again, thank you so much for your time and solving the problem. As an extra question, excuse my uneducated position, does this mean the so4 addition (if that's the right term) mean that the mov files will render at a better quality than before with this new apple pro-res render option compared with the previous magix intermediate?

So here's the thing- there's no "best" format. It depends on what the underlying footage was. Just taking a bit of water and putting it in a giant bucket doesn't get you any more water, it just makes moving it around a lot harder!

So 422 HQ should be fine for this purpose and potentially overkill depending on the source. It won't introduce additional compression-related artifacts so that's a good thing.

I don't know if Magix Intermediate is in any way worse than ProRes (perhaps someone can do render quality tests?), but it was less compatible as it wasn't official ProRes.

Thank you - that make sense and helps me understand it. In this case my input source is from fractal renders and dragonframe stop motion camera still sequence images, so all input was high quality png/jpeg source. I assumed it was best to have the best (lossless) format for these 'sub-mixes' to take into my master I used ProRes 422 HQ. The final output I did in ProRes 422 Proxy
