You can change it back if you want. Just hold down the shift key, right-click, and choose "Open With...", pick the program you want, and check the box that says "Always use this program to open this type of file"

I did this before and I just tried it again holding the shift key. It's still associated with WMP. If I look, under Tools>Folder Options>File Types in Explorer, avi is associated with Vegas. When I actually look at folder of avis, they all have the WMP icon.

Oh, well, I guess I can live with this until I install Vegas 5.

Thanks for your suggestions.

There are DEFINATELY some great looking DVD's on the site-- the audio production one looks like a well spent $100 (I am, indeed, debating it!). However, I'm still curious-- does it focus on the new features specific to CS, or is the vast majority applicable to previous versions?

And also... we're waiting on the tour dates for Vegas! The Toledo/Cleveland venue is pretty convienient for those of use who LIVE IN TOLEDO!! ;)

David.

The CS discs cover a LOT of new and old workflow of CS and previous versions. There are some things that are CS exclusive, and things that only CS brings to vid editors. Hence the reason for the 2 disc product. If you have old versions of Pshop, you'll learn quite a bit. You'll likely end up spending the 150.00 for the upgrade. I did, after I saw the project coming together and being edited.

Spot, I waited so long for the Vegas Video Book book to come out when ordering on Amazon that I finally gave up and ordered a Photoshop book instead.

I would be one of the first to jump on board and order the CS training DVD if i know it won't be months waiting. Can you promise a release date without a long wait if we order in advance? I'm excited to get it in my hands.

It's at the duplicator now. We aren't the ones who published the Vegas book....that was someone else. :-) But we ARE publishing the DVDs and they WILL be shipping on April 19th, as promised. We're also shipping the ACID vid at NAB as well. Both come out of the duplicator before the 19th, but we've chosen to wait til NAB's first day to ship any. The Now Hear This and other DVDs will be shipping by May 15. We are committed to these dates, and since we're in control, they'll ship on time.

I guess I'll bite the bullet then, I have PS Elements that I only use for printing (it can use the ICC profiles from a monitor/printer calibration system) but I mostly use Picture Publisher - I'll just have to translate I guess.

Off to the VASST site - thanks all.

...except I can't!

Is there a problem with the checkout? I've checked all required fields are populated, valid email address etc. Check the Shipping-info-as-billing" box. Click continue and I get returned to the same page, but my email address is in both fields twice separated by a comma.

Or am I being a dufus?
