New Version

I'm tempted to get Vegas Pro Edit, but I'd sure like to know if a new studio is about to be released. With all of the camera companies showing sick profits, I'm wondering if the software ware is also suffering.

I'm love Studio 12 but I'm think about using the HDMI 4:2:2 on my camera and I don't think you can get that codec for 12 right?

That's not a codec. HDMI is a video interface type and 4:2:2 is color space. To see what codec your cam is recording, open a file with MediaInfo and look at the Text view properties.

Thanks. I haven't got the external recorder yet (still trying to choose), was wondering if anyone here is recording RAW video and processing it in Movie studio.

RAW ??? As in Camera RAW? That's for photos, not video.

No such animal for video. At least not that I'm familiar with.

External recorder? Please explain what you're thinking of doing.

Video RAW (meaning unprocessed image (for the D7100 it is 4:2:2 color space) .
You can use a HyperDeck Shuttle II to record Uncompressed, ProRes, DNxHD 220, or DNxHD MXF from the HDMI port on the Nikon D7100..
