newbie color correction question

Hi, I have a few video clips where the background is neutral in color, but my son's orange shirt looks very bright and glaring when the video is seen on TV.

I tried secondary color correction and broadcast color filters but not very successful with it.

Can someone suggest the best way of reducing the saturation of the orange color so the video looks pleasing to the eyes ?

Appreciate the help and thanks in advance.

I am trying to see if I can post a snapshot of the video to give an exact idea of my problem.

Example shots would be good so we can see what you are dealing with.

In the mean time, all I can think of is that you may want to use:

---The primary, 3-wheel (as opposed to Secondary) Color Correction since it offers 3-way control: you've probably already tried swinging away from yellows/reds towards blues, maybe fool around with Gamma and/or Offset in there too for it sounds like you may have some over-contrast going.

--- Color Curves and/or Levels: pull back on high end.

--- Color Balance can get a bit drastic so maybe not a wise application here, but another one to try: pull back on the red, see what happens.

Thanks for the reply Soniclight.
Lowering the saturation on the 3 wheel corrector did it.
