newbie question....

If I am only using a regular CRT computer monitor to do my editing,, is there a setting of brightness and contrast I can pick for a "flat response",, e.g. bass and treble at 0 on a stereo system. I'm making brightness and contrast changes in vegas, yet, the brightness and contrast on my computer monitor is going to be different than what it is on the final output....does what I'm asking even make sense?

It's going to be hard to make your CRT look like your TV. They have different ways of dealing with color.

You can look online for ways of calibrating your monitor. There is a lot of info from people like graphics professionals who need their monitors to be exact. They is a device called a Calibug which Spot reviewed recently that helps you tweak your monitor.

You may want to look into gettting a cheap TV and checking out BillyBoy's tutorials for calibrating a video monitor. Search this forum for "calibrate" and you will find a lot of posts.
