Newbie Question: Project Format

Somehow my camcorder set itself to 4:3 mode and I didn't notice (idiot) so everything is recorded like that . Do I need to create my project in PAL 4:3 DV format or are there any other options as I want to display the final DVD on a widescreen tv?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The right thing to do would be to edit in 4:3. Otherwise, use this trick: http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/12/12/from-43-to-169-with-sony-vegas/

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Eugenia as I used your trick and the result is fabulous, so much better than if I'd carried on with 4:3.
