newbie question(s)

New to hard disk recording and I have a couple of questions
regarding a really simple project, to start with.

I want to simultaneously record up to 4 tracks to my hard
drive for later editing and mix-down, from my TASCAM 424
mkII. Of course, I want all the tracks to be in sync with
each other...

I realize my TBS Montego II sound card is probably not up
to the job, therefore, will any (or all) of the following
products allow me to accomplish this with Vegas Pro?
Event Darla/Gina/Layla, Yamaha DSP Factory, CardDeluxe,
MOTU 2408. This is a wide range of product/price range, but
I am looking for future compatibility and expandability of
my digital studio as well. Money is not that much of an
object.

Any recommendations out thar? Hook me up! TIA.

Ray

Ray,

First, remember that I can't recommend specific hardware. However, I
can share my experience. Of the cards you mention, I know something
about only the Gina and Layla. The Gina has only two inputs, so it
wouldn't do the trick. The Layla, on the other hand, has 8 ins, so
you could run all four tracks through it to Vegas Pro at once. I use
a Layla on my system, and have had good luck with it.

Good luck,

Gary

Thanks Gary,

Then Layla it is... unless some other "non-restricted" lurkers feel
like trying to convince me otherwise. I have checked into a few of
the other options. Anyone?

Peace,
Ray
