NewBlue Titler EX displays error message

alandp wrote on 6/11/2011, 6:51 AM
Under the Media Generator tab, when I click on the NewBlue Titler tab, I receive a message saying, "Titler can work but without effect support." My Intel HD Graphics driver appears to be up-to-date. Then Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11.0 closes. Has anyone encountered this problem. If so, how did you resolve this issue? Thanks.

The NewBlueFX titler is only available via the Movie Studio Production Suite.

Thanks.
That's interesting, because on NewBlueFx website there nothing mentioned about a plug-in to create 3D titles

Are you just referring to the new Sony titler? I guess the NewBlue titler is not part of the trial download (I don't see it in my install even though I selected the Production Suite.

New! Titles & Text plug-in
Spice up your text events with animations and interesting effects. The Titles & Text plug-in incorporates some of the options of the Pro Type Titler (Vegas Pro), but has an intuitive and easy-to-use interface."

Anyone have any screen shots of the NB titler?

That's right. The only info available now seems to be that one on the SCS product info site about MS Production Suite.

Actually the full name of the product is Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite. Sorry for the confusion. The NewBlueFX Titler EX plugin is available at http://www.newbluefx.com/sonytitler/. (I hope that I am not violating Forum Rules :-)

Very interesting. In NewBlueFX homepage there is nothing about this plug-ins which is also not listed in anyone of their products.
The silly question: can I use the TitlerEX with VMS11 HD Platinum (not teh Production Suite) ?

Very interesting link....The download seems to be newly offered. There does not seem to be a trial version available and it asks you immediately for a serial number. Presumably, this would only come with VMS Production Suite versions.

For more information on the Titler capabilities and how to use it, check this out

The most likely reason that the NewBlueFX Titler Plugin malfunctions is, according to Toshiba Customer Support, that my laptop display was customized and therefore, the video graphics card driver was customized also. Updating the graphics driver with a generic driver available from Intel would cause technical problems with the laptop. Anyone using a customized PC, at least a customized display, take note :-(

Robert, this is a first release and is currently only available in the Sony bundle. There will be a Pro version coming that will be available for all versions of Vegas that support OpenFX as well as other NLE's. At that time, it will be listed on the main NewBlue website but as that is not yet available, it is not listed today.

This new titler is only bundle with some versions of Movie Studio - the proper information is included if your version comes bundled with it. And this is different than the new titler included in VMS 11 by Sony. So, if you get the NewBlue bundled titler, you actually get TWO new titlers!

In addition, the NewBlue titler does have fairly high video card requirements. In fact, it would not work on my desktop machine until the video driver was updated.

UPDATE::
Tech Support from NewBlue, the developer of Titler EX, stated, " Intel HD Graphics chips are not powerful enough to support all the features of Titler EX." Apparently, very powerful video graphics hardware is required to support all of the features of Titler EX.
