NewBlueFX internet connection

I'm looking to get the NewBlueFX sampler with my Vegas Pro 9 upgrade...

But what's the networking requirements for it? Would my Vegas edit machine need to be on-line or is it something I can download and register on my separate internet computer?

Last year, I asked the same question when evaluating NewBlueFX's free cartoonr plugin. It looks like you need an internet connection to activate their plugins.

Sorry, you must install from an internet connected machine. At this point, we do not have a non-internet install option for our free cartoonr product.

The ONLY product from NewBlue that requires an internet connection is the free Cartoonr. All other products have the option of "registering from another machine". So all of the purchased products can be installed and activated on a machine that does not have an internet connection - you just need to use a machine that DOES have an internet connection to finish the process.

Furthermore, in the case of the Sampler Pack product that ships with the Vegas upgrade, there is no activation or registration requirement at all. We do provide an incentive for registering, but if you don't want to, you don't have to.

the NewBlueFX plugins are the best I've ever bought for Vegas, and I'm beyond thrilled with them; I use them in every single video I've ever made. Great quality, easy to use, significantly adds to Vegas.

Wait until you see what they demoed at NAB with their new Video Essentials II. ;-) (more "gotta have" stuff)

Those effects look really good. Great job.

Are they available for purchase as separate purchases or do you have to buy the package? There are about 3 that I would use often and others that I might buy when the occasion arises. Just curious.

Thanks! No, they come as a package. The overhead becomes to complicated if we try to break things out, but thanks for asking.
