NewBlueFX licensing (again, sorry)

David Johns wrote on 5/29/2014, 1:12 PM
It's getting very confusing with my NewBlue FX licensing.

I have NBFX Video Essentials 3 which works fine in Vegas Pro 12 (I think it came with that software) and now VP13 which I've just installed.

But NBFX Essentials 6, which came as part of the VP13 upgrade, says it's a trial when opened in VP12.

As I intend to keep using VP12 for a bit until I'm happy with 13, it would be nice to use all the NBFX as well, and I though after all the recent confusion about their "version-specific" licensing policy, they were making their FX unrestricted in this way so I should be able to use the newer bundle in the older version of Vegas.

Have I lost the plot entirely?

Regards
Dave

Yep, you did. Review the info once more about what you signed up for. It is spelled out and it is staight forward.

Any retail version will work in all supported versions of Vegas.

VE6 bundled with Vegas Pro 13 will work without a watermark in Vegas Pro 13 and newer versions. In older versions of Vegas Pro you will get a watermark.

Titler Pro 1 will work without a watermark in Vegas Pro 11 and 12.

There are no "shenanigans". They work in the versions they were bundled with and it has been decided that VE6 will continue to work in future versions too.

Thank you, JetDV - your response was helpful and clears up my misunderstanding. I apologise for any offence with "shenanigans", it was a poor choice of word and I shall edit the post to remove it.

Do you know if it's possible to somehow hide the non-activated plugins in VP12 so that only the ones that are un-watermarked will show up?

Dave

I think you have to ACTIVATE it, but the response email I got from NewBlu was empty cept for some failed pics. Nice. Still working on Activating the free pluginswiht VP13

Dave, it is not possible to do that. You would need to completely uninstall them for them to not show up because all Vegas versions look in the same place for the plugins. Install once and the 64-bit versions of Vegas Pro 10, 11, 12, and 13 will see them.

Yes, I got the same email - completely blank, no subject line and just some images with the word "Hello"...

But having said that the plugins do appear to be activated within VP13 so I don't think I need to activate them any more (touch wood). I just wanted to be able to use them in VP12, which I cannot do.

Thanks again JetDV. Understood. Of course, I don't want to delete them as I want them in VP13, so I'll live with it!

Now, if only I could work out how to delete the trial version of New Blue Starter Pack which doesn't appear in "Programs and Features" to uninstall...

Dave, Starter Pack is a part of Titler Pro. You don't want to delete them. If you have Titler Pro 3 and are having an issue, please update to the most current build on our website.

If you have Titler Pro 1, this is normal unless you upgrade to Titler Pro 3 or the retail version of Titler Pro 1. Please e-mail me at support at newblueinc.com for more details.

Oooooh, I didn't realise that either. Well, having just installed TP3 as part of my Vegas 13 upgrade, I guess they should be activated now; I shall go back & check.
Thanks

You can check for newer builds by opening Titler Pro and going to Help - Check for Updates.
