Is this by design? The split tool is right next to the next frame icon in the timeline so you used to be able to scan forward or back to the exact spot to split. Now you have to do it in the preview and move to the timeline. Sometime the split doesn't work unless you highlight the timeline again. Most awkward.

To Split, just press S on the keyboard.

Thanks. My question in part is is this a design change or an oversight. Changing a basic step that I've used in multiple versions to another sequence of steps involving mouse and keyboard seems unwieldy.

This looks like a bug to me. Both "Next frame (Alt+Right)" buttons should work the same as in previous versions. They don't in V13. File a bug report.

Personally I've been using "S" for split and the arrow keys to move a frame so long .. non issue for me.

In cases like this i find it much easier to use the mouse to move the frame and S to split. That way i keep one hand on the mouse, one on the keyboard, and i don't have to move either one. Much faster than moving the mouse pointer back and forth between different buttons.

For anyone who is not clear on this

In V13 if you click on the "Next Frame/Previous Frame" TIMELINE icons it does move one frame. You can keep clicking and moving a frame with each click. You just can't hold the mouse button down and get it to run continuously as in other version.

However, the "Next/Previous Frame" icons in the Preview window work the same as in other versions. So it is just the TIMELINE icons that seem to have the bug.
