No 24P projects?

Hi gang,

I just wanted to confirm I wasn't being daft - I cannot find any option to make a project 24p DVD project. If I bring in a 24P video, DVDA wants to recode it to 29.94 (for an NTSC disc).

Does anyone have any suggestions for making a 24p video play at a genuine 24p rate? (ala, most films on DVD).

Cheers,
Jason

Yes, in DVDA Studio 4.5 it's not allowed to author a 24p disc -- DVDA will transcode your video to 29.97 fps before you can finish the disc.

You might try a freeware alternative like DVDFlick.

way late, but why does the DVD have to be 24p? its just the video that's the issue isn't it?

i put together DVD's of 24p material regularly...
there is no visible pulldown if u render with the correct template out of Vegas.

1) use any of the MainConcept MPEG-2 24p encodes
2) add the encoded mpeg to DVD-Architect... then burn

any files encoded with the 2-3 pulldown 24p templates will look fine when you do a frame-by-frame check on the authored DVD...
and DVD-A won't have to re-encode. :)

Hi Rob,

I think this was the answer I was looking for. I incorrectly assumed a 24p vid needed a 24p project.

Thanks!

The "video default" and "audio default" project properties just determine what settings are used for media that will need to be re-encoded -- videos that are not DVD compatible, alternate angles, menus that have been altered within DVDA, etc.
