No AFF Option!

I've been using an old Sony Vegas version for awhile now and the other day I finally made the upgrade to the Vegas Pro 16 through "Vegas Pro 365." But for some reason, the option to save as an AFF file is no longer there!

Was this an intentional change, or maybe I missed something during the installation process or is it a bug?
I used this option to transfer my projects into Adobe's After Effects program.. is there a different way to do it now?
Please help!

Do you mean AAF? That's still available in Vegas Pro 16 via "File/Export" (beneath another Premiere Pro and After Effects project export type).

YES I did!

Thank you so much! ^^

I've returned with bad news.

None of the newest export options, including the aafs, work at getting my projects imported into the current newest versions of Adobe's AE nor Premier Pro!

My old Sony Vegas has less issues with this kind of stuff, I feel like I've wasted money...

Does anyone else use the current Vegas Pro with AE like me and doing it successfully with the newest versions?

AAF has nothing to do with Premiere / After Effects. It's and AVID interchange format. There is no way Vegas can (or ever did) write detailed timelines into Premiere, etc. Just use in intermediate file export.

Didn't you test with the FREE TRIAL first?

It did.

Being able to save as an "Avid Legacy AAF" file lets me use a plug-in in After Effects called "Automatic Duck Plug-in" to import my Vegas project into AE as a single composition with all the video footage I used, cut and placed on the time line exactly as I did in Vegas, where I would then use AE to color correct, add effects, transitions, ect.

I don't personally understand how it all works, but it did, and no longer with the newest version of Vegas : (

And no, I didn't try the free trial, I didn't imagine an upgrade could diminish my work-flow like this.
I should've..But I'm desperately hoping there could be a different solution!

Edit 1: Spelling

Edit 2: I read somewhere that I should try exporting as an xml as Automatic Duck works with that as well and also, no luck. The errors I get are either "No sequence found" or only the audio is imported but not the video nor the timeline edits.

Then I checked the Archive log in both the exports of XML and AAF and they both look like this :
"Archiving D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\MS2 Holloween Event 2.veg
    to D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\Pro Tools AAF 2 (No Footage)\MS2 Holloween Event 2.aaf
Deinterlace method ignored.
Motion blur type ignored.
Video track for media "D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\Footage\Halloween room 1.mp4" ignored.
Video track for media "D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\Footage\Halloween room 2.mp4" ignored.
Composite mode for track 1 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:00;00 in track 1 ignored.
Video track 1 ignored(PT doesn't support video tracks).
Loop switch for event at 00:00:05;14 in track 1 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:10;24 in track 1 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:16;00 in track 1 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:21;06 in track 1 ignored.
Saved project D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\MS2 Holloween Event 2.veg
    to D:\Projects\MS2 Holloweeen Event\Pro Tools AAF 2 (No Footage)\MS2 Holloween Event 2.aaf
Archiving complete."

I have no idea what these all mean, but I do know what the word ignored means...
Reading the log makes me think that Vegas might not be exporting the data I need it to..

Sorry, totally forgot about Automatic Duck!

Don't know where the incompatibility has crept in. I would have tended to guess (as you said) that Vegas devs would likely have just left those export functions alone until ready for a major overhaul.

Anyway, the XML method seems possible. From my experience exporting to Davinci Resolve, I would guess you don't need to worry about most of the log messages (loop switches, motion blur, etc) but you probably do need timecode to be read from your clips and in my experience mp4's don't get read by Vegas. I have successfully used cineform files exported from Resolve, and I just read somewhere that re-wrapping mp4's to mov also works (unconfirmed.)
