No Audio in .mov file

I am attempting to edit a quicktime .mov file. The video portion of the file loads properly into a video track. But when selecting the clip in explorer it says the audio "Stream attributes could not be determined". Also, no audio plays during preview. Am I missing something? Is this an Apple compatibility issue with Vegas?

Open it in QuickTime Pro, look at audio properties and reroute the tracks if needed.

QT is set up to handle a lot of professional needs, and I have had this problem when working in Vegas with footage from Macs.

Takes about a minute to set the audio for your needs.

There has been another issue recently with a particular QT version, just search this forum for "QuickTime" in the last 30 days.

The "problem" version is 7.6.4, and many have reverted to 7.6 as a solution.
Since then, Apple has released a 7.6.5, they say is "supposed" to resolve the issue.

Let us know how it works for you, and also provide your relevant system and Vegas S/W specs.

" reroute the tracks if needed"
Not sure what you mean by this. How do I re-route the tracks? Is this something that QTPro can do? I can see the audio properties in Movie Properties and Move Insptector, but don't see a way to change them.
