How are you all? I just installed Vegas 10.0e in a new 64 bit laptop and for some reason the audio (any audio) will not play. I have messed around with the "Audio Device" and tried each sound device but have had no success.
Have you checked the Advanced section within the Audio Device tab? It should show you the audio devices being used (both input and output). See what that says and make sure the devices listed in that Advanced Audio Configuration window are working properly.
That would probably be the first thing, I would check.
I get windows sounds and all the files seem to play outside of Vegas.
Just now, I messed around with a little more (matched the media to project settings) and there is audio. However, I got this feeling that the problem is going to come back so any further advice would still be appreciated.
The Options --> Preferences --> Audio Device tab setting, which someone already mentioned and which it sounds like you did change even before posting, is still the most likely cause of the problem.
One reason it might not have at first appeared to fix anything is that (and please note, I am not 100% certain of this) the setting may not take effect until you close and then re-open Vegas. If this is true, now that it is working, it likely will continue to work just fine.
