no audio on firewire output ?

I'm using Vegas5, with a dsr20 DV tape recorder firewire connected.

When I hit play in vegas, I've got video on output, but no audio, no matter what 'audio device' I choose in Prefs. DSR20 shows red 'NS audio'.

When I make 'print to tape', all is well, video AND audio are playing normally.

Any reason to this ?
Can i change this in order to monitor audio with the DV tape recorder ?

mimi, I think that's normal for Vegas firewire output. I get the same results when outputting to my Digital 8 camera. Perhaps they'll improve that in V6.

This is by design. When "Playing" the timeline the video will go over firewire and the audio will come out the computer's speakers.

When "printing to tape", both video and audio go over the firewire.

Nothing is wrong with your system. That's how it works.
