NO Audio when burning Multimedia CD??????

HI,
My class has created an animated digital movie using still images imported in a sequence into Vegas 3. Actually, we've gotten through this project so far with loads of help from this forum!! So thanks.

Now I've run across a snag when burning the project into CDs for the kids. I've been rendering the project as an .avi file because there is no compression. But in order to put the movie on a CD, I've been using the .wmv file because that will fit on the CD cause it's only 37 megs. The .avi file is 1 1/2 gigs.

This is the problem. The first couple CD's I burn turn out fine. Then suddenly the audio disappears on the next one. This happened a couple of days ago and I thought that I had clicked the wrong button or something, but in my tinkering around, I "fixed" something and the sound came back on the rendered version and the CD burned version. Does the problem have anything to do with the question about the file already existing and do I want to replace it??????

Now the audio has disappeared again. I don't know what I'm doing or not doing that is causing this. I need 23 CDs by Monday to give to the kids.

Oh and guess what! The computer wizard says that he'll try to post the film. If he does, I'll get back with all of you with the address. You all have been very helpful and very supportive. I feel like I've learned oodles doing this project, but there is so much to know in this field. Makes me glad that I have a day job. LOL

Many thanks,
Debbie

Hi Debbie
Can't you just copy one of the good CDs for now?

My husband showed me how to do that and I took notes. Really. (Go ahead and laugh. He laughed, too.) But yesterday when I tried to do it here at school, I got a message that the computer couldn't find the file. So I went back to making the CD from the veg file using the Burn CD under the tools menu.

So get this, after I posted the message, I went back and rendered the project again as a .wmv file. The next CD I burned had the audio again. Now I'm doing another one. I must be clicking in the wrong place somewhere.

Thanks for your help! Do you have any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong?

If you are burning CDs one by one from the timeline of a veg file? I haven't done that, but I imagine a few clicks are involved, one of them could miss. Or you could accidentally mute the sound track. I'm only guessing. I really have no idea. But I'm glad it works for you now. Can't wait to see this video that we've heard so much about.
