Short history- I am using a solid state video recorder. It saves the files as ASF. I can play them fine. The video and audio work.
When trying to edit them, I run into some major roadblocks. At this point I have downloaded a number of programs and utilities and bought a few of them also. And nothing is working. Trying to pull in ASF files in most editors does not work at all. Running the files through some of the 3rd party translators to AVI or WMV makes the video look really horrible, or I end up with no video. One of the few editors that pull in the ASF file correctly and it looks very good, is Sony Vegas.
So I bought the latest Vegas and DVD Architect. But Architect won't recognize ASF and when I import the video into Vegas, there is no audio.
Is there a fix for this, or do I need to look at some other editor?
Thanks for reading.
