no audio, why?

I made some .avi's in Vegas with audio...
the audio is on the .avi's when I play them on the timeline in Vegas...
the audio is on the .avi's when I play them with Windows Media Player...
the audio is on the .avi's when I play them in Architect...
the audio is on the .avi's when I play them as a DVD Preview in Architect...
yet, there is no audio on my DVD disc after I burned it in Architect.
why is this?

The audio is still on the .avi's when I play them raw, in Vegas and in Architect as a preview... just not on the burned disc.

how do I get the audio on the DVD disc???

I'd really like to know...

(reaching for my Adobe software now)

thanks for your help...

Where are you playing back your DVD -- on the computer, or from a set-top dvd player?

funny you should say that [blush, blush]... I just tried on my computer, and should have done what I usually do, and check it on a dvd player... when I did it was there... sorry!

So... now I'm trying to figure out why there's no audio playing on my pc.

Thanks for your insights!

My guess is that whatever software you are using to playback the DVD on your computer does not have an AC-3 decoder.

What software are you using for DVD Playback?

Try downloading the Trials of PowerDVD or WinDVD, and playing back in those applications...

Some DVD/Media playing software also has it's own mute/volume control separate from Windows' sound mixer. This might be activated or turned down.
