No custom options for MainConcept MPEG

I can't create custom settings for MainConcept MPEG (1 or 2). I clicked the "custom" button but nothing appears. I recently upgrade my hard drive to higher capacity. Strangely, this didn't happen in my old hard drive. Can anyone please help.

I've reinstall but nothing helps. Thanks.

Do a search here for "HKEY" and "MPEG" - it will point you to a registry entry that needs to be deleted.

Start, Run..., enter regedit, enjoy.

You should learn how to backup your registry and do any other steps you can to secure your system and then edit your registry.

Most times, it's very simple and no adverse effects happen, however, you can severely mess up your computer if you edit the wrong things in your registry.

I still have no luck to bring the custom settings back. This is the first time I'm fooling around with regitry. Please let know which particular key should be deleted? I've found severel MPEG keys. Hopefully this is the end of my misery.

Look in your registry, and make sure it only has these entries, and nothing else.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony\MC MPEG Plug-In\1.0\License]
"CurrentKey"="XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX"
"InstFlags"=dword:00000010

(you shoud see letters and digits instead of the X's here...)

I believe the key to remove may be labeled "Key1". If it isn't "CurrentKey" or "InstFlags", get rid of it.
