No device control on my PD170

I can capture just fine from my PD170 in V5 but I just tried to do a print-to-tape and I the option for device control is "greyed out"

Does anyone here have a PD170 (or 150) and do you know what the "trick" is to enable device control?

Do you have a tape in the camera at that point in time?

It's kind of funny because my deck DOES have device control and I always choose Manual! I don't put the tape in until the countdown screen appears.

Just printed back to a PD170, no special trick. Put a tape in, set to VCR...print from the Vegas timeline with device control, worked perfectly.

The most common mistake is that people have their cameras set to Camera mode instead of VCR mode.

I think I must have done something different this morning... and would you believe it... IT WORKS.

I swear I had a tape in it earlier (I was doing it late at 2am this morning)... but maybe I did not.
