If you have a window open, and turn off the Sync Cursor, it's still active. PITA, but it's the way it is. Close the window with Sync off, and then reopen window. it will no longer be active.

Even like that it does not work! A turn the synch button off, close the window and open it again. But nothing. When I reopen the window the sych button is off but vegas still add a key frame as soon as I change a parameter in the effect.
Do I do it wrong?

At least as a workaround... make sure you select the "first" keyframe in the FX.

Ok, to select the first key frame can solve the problem in a way that wether the cursor is in the shot the parameters act on the first key rame selected. But hat thing of adding automatically a key frame a the cursor position in the effect timeline as you change parameters is a bit strange. Was it like that before. I have been using many time the key frames to build a effect but never noticed that!

From memory it worked fine in V4 and got broken in V5, major PIA for me.
Still trying to think just what got added to V5 that's been of any real use to me.

Hmm. I'm not seeing this problem. I click it on and off at will and it seems to respond as it should.

I am still on 5.0b.

I think it's coz you're moving the cursor in the effect timeline. If you move the cursor on the project timeline with the sync cursor turned off, it'll not add a key frame when you adjust the parameters.

From memory....i think 3 & 4 worked the same way...

Ok, if you select the first key frame it works because you are changing the effect on a key frame that already exist.
