No luck with Plugin Pack and DeLogo 1.3.2

I read some posts on here about removing unwanted text. I capped a vhs source where someone left the "play" and "hi-fi" tags showing while recording, and i'm trying to get rid of them for the few seconds they are on there.

I've got plugin pack installed, and then DeLogo 1.3.2 running from inside that in Vegas. I take a snap, go to photoshop, and generate a 24bit BMP mask with red (255, 0, 0) all no problem. I insert the effect, keyframe the start and stop points, and load the BMP image in the "repair" loader just as shown on this site.

then...

nothing happens. Logo remains. I must be doing somethig wrong.

I regularly use DeLogo 1.3.2 with Vegas 5.0b. I use Wax, however, rather than the earlier PluginPac. Wax is the later incarnation of that software, and is available from the same author (Satish) at:

Wax, etc.

I usually capture the bitmap that I use for the mask by loading DeLogo into VirtualDub. The reason for this is that you MUST have that still shot captured in the identical resolution as the video (720x480 for NTSC DV). If the resolution doesn't match, the mask won't work. (Actually, now that I use a script to capture in Vegas, I can now get 720x480 captures -- without a script, this is difficult to do).

Also, I used to have the same problem of nothing happening (but only sometimes) when I used the DeLogo inside of Vegas via Plug-in Pac. Since I upgraded to Wax, I haven't had that problem.

Just to make sure everything still works, I just put a video clip on the Vegas 5.0b timeline. I added Wax to that event. In Wax, I clicked on the "VirtualDub Filters" icon, and selected Delogo, and then dragged it down to the "Host Media" and dropped it there (you drop it on top of the Host Media, not below it -- it becomes a child track to the Host Media). The Delogo dialog opened up. I then clicked on the "Load" button on the "Repair" line in Delogo. That was it. As soon as I returned to the Vegas timeline, I had a nice little blur where the logo mask was being applied.

I appreciate the help John. I was trying to get around using wax since it crashes vegas for me frequently.
