no markers/regions in trimmer with mp4 files

hello

i never noticed this before: all my mp4 files (sony avc) rendered from vegas don´t remeber the markers/regions in trimmer. when i set markers or regions in trimmer (autosave enabled, or save manually) they are not saved.
the next time i open one of the mp4s again in trimmer all markers and regions are gone.
vegas creates a .sfl file when i save the markers/regions manually, but they never appear in the trimmer.
with all other files types mpegs, avis, movs,.. the autosave trimmer regions/markers workes (internal or sfl file).
the funny thing is: some mp4 files have markers/regions from the original project inside (without an sfl file), but changes/deletes are also not saved.

so is this normal, or do i have a specific problem here?
using vegas 9.0e 64bit (the same with 9.0c 64 and 32 bit) and Windows 7 64 bit

can nobody confirm this?
(that with/in mp4 files no markers or region can be saved?)

I rendered Sony AVC using the Blu-ray template and the regions and markers in the rendered output were not visible in DVD Architect.
I did see them when I opened the rendered files in another Vegas Pro 9.0e project. This was not a well-controlled scientific test.

thanks john

i saw markers regions in an rendered mp4 output as you do, but try to make some new markers or regions in the trimmer, autos-save or save them.
anything i tried, they are not saved like in all other file-types.

I haven't had time to investigate this yet, but I'll give you what little info I have.

I often use the trimmer to add markers to wave files (regular 48 kHz 24-bit stereo PCM wavs). If I add a few markers, click "save markers" and switch to another app, the markers disappear from the trimmer. I have the "close media files when not the active application" option enabled.

As far as I can tell, though, this is only a display issue. If I close and re-open the project, and open the file in the trimmer again, the markers seem to be there.

You should submit a bug report with this info.
