Not precisely busted. We don't know that he has actually violated that statement. We have no proof that he's purchased another product since then. All we know is that he's trying to activate one. It may be a license that he already owned before the previous posting.

Not that i approve of his attitude, but i do want to give him the fairness he's due.

Dang, now I'm even more glad that I bought Vegas 8. The entertainment value of this forum was an unexpected bonus!

Ah, but you're evaluating his latest proclamation -- that he won't buy another Sony product. What he's obviously "violated" is his previous (2007) statement that he was moving to something else, which implied that he wouldn't be using Vegas anymore. "I'm moving to another NLE." "And the winner is: EDIUS Broadcast or FCP." And from another thread over a week later, "Same here. Thats why I'm moving to another NLE."

Not that I consider forum posts legally binding or anything, mind you. I just don't know why anyone feels the need to make a public 'threat" to abandon a program / service at all, let alone an empty one (threat, that is).

You ain't seen nothin' yet. If tradition holds, you're in for a treat two weeks from now.

right - Vegas has been simple to register compared to Adobe's stuff -- hey good to hear I'm not the only Audition sufferer -- every time I change hard drives/ghost I need to call "Adobe India" and get interrogated for reactivating it... sigh...

re Adobe apps: the tech there said the key to avoid that, is to unregister each one from the menu pulldown before ghosting/installing/trying to run on a new machine... it's a real pita, adobe licensing.... vegas is a breeze so far, never had a significant problem ...

sorry but these companies do need a way to make a dollar ,,,,without a little pain people would just pass a disk around, like the good ole days :)

When I used to use (Powerquest) Drive Image years ago, I used to have to reactivate Photoshop all the time, every time I did a partition restore.

After I switched to the Acronis equivelent some years ago, I think True Image, I never had this issue come up ever again.

acronis trueimage 2009 rocks. btw, norton ghost 14 standard no longer includes drive imaging. You don't find that out till after you buy it and find out you have to upgrade to a more expensive 'pro' version. Baloney.
