No smart rendering with Vegas 10a/64 ?

Tried to smart render mpeg files made by 10a with exact same
properties - no smart rendering.
Even tried rendering with the default DVDA template and then made
a rerendering - not smart.
In both cases I got the = sign for the template.
If I try to smart render a dvdmpeg-file made in 10a in 9e but i get an error sign!
I use to make DVDmpeg parts of big projects and then "glue" them together
with smart resample without any trouble (9e).
Anyone got the same problem?

On my system with Vegas 10a/64, smart-rendering works for HDV and Cineform files, but not for SD resolution mpeg2. Be aware that SD resolution DVD compatible mpeg2 can be either upper or lower field first and make sure that that setting matches your source material. Unfortunately, even with this set correctly, I have no luck at SD resolution.

Another thing to be aware of: Vegas smart-renders only smart-render the video portion, not the audio. If you assemble a bunch of mpeg2 sections into a larger master, you will be decoding and recoding the audio compression. That is why I always do this sort of thing with http://womble.com/Mpeg Wizard from Womble.com[/link]. Other people use http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htmVideoReDo[/link]. Either of these programs will smart-render both the video and the audio and work just fine with SD mpeg2 video.

Yes lower on both and everything else match - doesn´t matter.
So - is there no smart rendering SD with Vegas 10?
Is it a bug?
It certainly is prohibiting my usual workflow with big projects.

I use to smartrender just the video and do the final audio portion from the original audio wav 24/48 to AC3.

I had no problems with smart rendering SD in Vegas 9e but
since Vegas 9e regrets to smartrender a SD mpeg2 file made in Vegas 10a and shows an error sign when I hit the renderbutton
there must be a difference between SD mpg2 rendered
by Vegas 10a and Vegas 9e - but what is it?

Thank you for the tips - I shall try them!

I would say it's a bug. You should be able to do this in Vegas 10. Especially since earlier versions of Vegas had no trouble doing this. Make sure you report it so it gets fixed.
