No sound on Sony products

All of my Sony software products have gone silent. I have Vegas, Cinescore and Screenblast SoundForge. I can still play music on Media Player so it isn't speakers or system related. All three products show the sound wave on the time line and if I click play the meters act like the music is playing. Recent .veg files that worked when I saved them don't have sound now. Mute is not turned on and I can't see any other obvious explanation. Any ideas what could make my Sony products mute?

I'd be looking in the Windows mixer.

second place to work would be in Vegas settings to see what sound interface Vegas is using, but since all your sony apps have the same problem I'd look outside of vegas for a single setting that changed.
