No sound when import video from Flip HD Mino

I have Sony Vegas 8.0 and when I was using a Flip Ulta I could bring those files in, no problem. With my Flip Mino HD when I bring a video clip into Vegas there is no sound, no audio track at all. The audio is there when seen in the Flip software and when played in Windows Media Player Any help you can give would be most appreciated.

I tried the recommended fix with downloading the new qt7plug.dll, renaming the old, etc. - it didn't work. So I want to try uninstalling quicktime 7.64 - found the previous version 7.60 but can't seem to locate the itunes version prior to 9.0 so I will have a version that functions with the new/old quicktime

I downloaded the MediaInfo program and it said the video file from my Flip Mino HD was mepg-4, video avc, audio AAC, does that help?

Keep looking for iTunes 8.

EDIT: Looks like it's available here:

This problem also occurs with the Kodak Zi8 and I was able to fix it using Eugenia's post about re-encoding using QuickTime Pro. We really need Sony to just release another update to VMS to fix the problem.

It's a Vegas bug with the new Quicktime, you need to roll back to a previous Quicktime version.

Alternatively, you can re-encode the audio without re-encoding the video, using Quicktime Pro and the MPEG4 export facility (you use "passthrough" for video, but you re-encode the audio).
