No Transparent Text or Credit Roll

Hello, I'm still trying to learn Vegas, but I found something odd:

when I add Text or Credit Roll with transparent elements (like background or letters) they still remain solid.
I checked the properties tab and everything seems ok: alpha channel set to 0%
Also I tried with different event file (avi, mp4): nothing has changed.
In the track list the event is displayed in the right way, but on the preview monitor or in the output file, colors remain solid.

What "colors" are you referring to? Background colors? There shouldn't be any, if this is the case.

Well I just figured it out after messing with it for 2 hours.
The text has to be on it's own track (above the video track). I was trying to drag to text directly on the video. I looked through the help manual and NOWHERE does it state this. See user name.

If you have a problem adding "transparent" titles that you want to superimpose over a background image, make sure you add the titles on a separate track that is above the the video track with the background image.

The thumbnail of a "transparent" event will always look transparent on the timeline but will have a solid black background in the preview window (and when rendered) UNLESS there is another video track with an image above or below it on the timeline.

Ok. I see you got it on your own! ..

If time is valuable, then get Spot's book on Vegas. This will save you lots of time and make the whole world of Vegas editing open up!
