Hi all,
I just came back from visiting IBC. Unfortenately Sonic Foundry was not represented at all (not even with Soundforge or Acid or whatever). So I checked out Sony's stand. They had 2 postproduction products: DV Lince and Xpri.
I asked a few Japanese guys and some European Sony-people about Vegas, and they did know the program, but didn't know why it was in no way represented. One of them told me there's still some discussion at the internal management level about this software, and he didn't know what would would happen..
It's very sad to hear this. And all the demo's from Premiere pro, Media100, Avid, FCP etc.. I was grinding my teeth cause I wished all my collegues could have a glance at Vegas. Too bad.. hopefully next year.. but so far no news about what will happen from IBC.

Odd, this press release about Sound Forge 7 came from the Sony booth at IBC. It doesn't look like they have everyone on the same page in the Sony camp.

Strange.. reading this article it says: "This latest version, combined with our other flagship products for video and audio production, Vegas(R) 4.0 and ACID(R) Pro 4.0 software, create the complete package for the professional production community."

I did look everywhere.. especially at the Sony stand where they offered free drinks ;) but I couldn't find it..
