No video???

I'm using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platnum 10.0 on Windows 7 64-bit. From time to time I want to edit files downloaded from my HD TiVo.

I've using a utility called kmttg which uses TiVo decode.exe to decript the .tivo file and produce a MPEG-2 file. At first this worked, but the last couple of time I've tried it, Vegas detects only the audio streams, no video. When I click on the file in the explorer tab, the message underneath shows the audio streams only, and dropping it into the timeline shows only the audio in the Voice band, and there is no picture when I play it.

Yet, when I open the same file in Windows Media Player, the video displays normally. I was able to work with Tivo recordings in this manner a few weeks ago. What's wrong?

Download the trial version of VideoRedo and run your .mpg files through the Quickstream Fix utility. See if that fixes it.

Files from any PVR contain indexing errors that Vegas cannot fix, although the files can usually be played normally.
