No video after rendering

O K so I have used Pinnacle to edit video footage (what a nightmare) and I have used VMS to do a single source Youtube vid ( Carrie Lyn plays with the TSO Wizards in Winter)( and I get the whole rendering thing. But now I am trying 2 vid clips with audio passing back and forth between them with some text in the mix at beginning and end. I have rendered this 5 different times and I get no video footage. I tried different formats, I tried soloing all. I have audio and text but no video. What now??? This is all being done on my audio machine P-4 @ 2.6 with 1 G ram, 30G system, 120G stoage plus a 120 usb storage for video.

This doesn't exactly make sense to me. Please explain.

In the meantime, also make a rendering using one of the Sony AVC PSP templates and see if this helps anything. I am just trying to figure out if it's a bug of the Vegas engine or a bug of the encoder.

I will retract some of that now that i remember more, I took video clips over two evenings, 7 clips and 3 clips and I am transitioning between the clips of the two nights, both have audio and I am transitioning between these also. I have placed everything on the timeline and the project will play in the preview window, with the exception of two transitions that my older processor is having problems doing in real time, the audio plays and the titles come up no problem. I tried rendering as an .mpg and the .mpgvideo for DVDArchitect and niether gave me a video stream. I will try the psp template and see if I get something there. I noticed there is an update available, would that make a difference?
Thanks,
Joe

OK I took my source files (.MOV) and tried to render a file in any format but none of them worked???! I was able to get audio but no video. I will try with a different known .MOV file that I was able to render with ULead before I got VMS.

Not all .mov files are the same. .mov is just a container and it can have inside different kinds of formats. Maybe one of these formats Vegas doesn't support it.

I would understand that that if the clip itself did not play in the timeline but it does without a problem so if it can read it to play it what would cause it to not render it??? I spent several hours this morning going back thru posts and only a handful of people have had an issue. I am using VMS 6b if that makes a difference, did they fix this in the "c" patch?

Eugenia, just an update... after wracking my brain to remember how I changed my system in between projects I realized I updated to Sound Forge 9.c. So I uninstalled VMS 6 and DVD Architect and SF 9 completely the reloaded SF9 and updated it then loaded VMS and DVD and everything worked fine just as it did before. Boy this is sure looking like Mac was the way to go...just thinking out loud.
