Presently VV will break events only on the timecode. So if you shoot everything at once with your camera without breaking, you'll just have one event. VV doesn't detect scene changes, per say, only senses changes in the timecode.

Since a thumbnail is generated once captured in Media pool for each "event" or scene (based on timecode)you can decide based on those what to drag to the timeline once you're done capturing. In the long run I find it simpler then trying to hit some exact parts of the tape, then only inporting that over and over.
