Sounds like you don’t have the codec installed for this video format. I am not familiar with the camera but usually digital cameras that take movies will come with software that will allow you to download video and display it. Did it come with any and have you installed it? This software will probably include the codec you need.

There is a possibility that the codec is proprietary and so these movies cannot be used with any software other than the one that comes with the camera. The highest resolution for movies on this camera is 320x240 so I’m not sure what kind of quality you were hoping for but it won’t be much.

I am able to plays these movies in movie maker and other video editing software with no problem.Just not MS. And much to my surprise the quality is not to bad.I was hoping to use MS because some of these short clips are quite good

In Preferences, do you have an option to "ignore 3rd party codecs" checked, like in Vegas 4? You might try unchecking this if you have it and try again. If not, open the file in Movie Maker and then save them using a codec that Movie Studio can read.
