Great product and loving it but a beginner. I import a VOB/Video TS file from a DVD. Sound is there (ie background music and voices) but no other voices. Help appreciated
Thanks for you reply. Appreciated. I selected the vob chapter I wanted and used the Vegas import feature to get it to the media bin then dragged to the timeline. Did I leave a file behind?
Thanks MSmart. Yes now I have set the master to 5.1 surround. Better overall quality but still no voice audio. I am using stereo speakers, would it be something in my system settings.
Might be a ridiculous question, but do you know that the DVD you are importing contains the voices? Do you hear them on a standalone DVD player or when played using another application on the computer?
And I'll add another question: When you say "voice" is that *all* that is missing? In other words is there other audio that you *do* hear .. like music? Or is *all* the audio missing?
I think the answer here is pretty simple.
It sounds like you have a DVD with multiple AC3 audio tracks.
Vegas will only pick up Track 0, which in this case is the music-only track.
The solution is to use a third-party utility (whichever one works), to demux the audio tracks to separate files. Then you can add the audio track of your choice back into the Vegas project.
Or, you might run it through DVDShrink, just keeping the one audio track you want to use in your project.
I have experienced a similar problem, so thought this was the answer. I demuxed and got two AC3 audio streams. Unfortunately, VMS 10 Plat HD doesn't import them. Do I need to convert them to a different format?
Thanks everyone for the response. I'm using vegas 10. the DVD has full audio. I get the sound track, background conversation, shouts, orders etc. but no conversation between people.. Strange. I'm away for a couple of days but I'll look at the suggestions then.
