Noise level sample of my soundcard, is this normal ?

Hello. I have a WamiRack 192L soundcard which is supposed to be a "pro" card. I find the noise level pretty high. I'm a bit novice at this so it might be normal, I wonder if the sound I hear could be some interference, the noise seems to be pulsating. Here is a sound sample, you will have to crank up the volume a bit to hear the pulsating I am talking about. This was recorded in an empty bedroom with an AT3035 condenser microphone plugged directly into the Wamirack preamp (XLR input) the gain is set at 12 o'clock. Thanks for you comments.

Since this audio device connects to your system via a PCI card, your computer may be introducing the noise into your signal. The pulsating noise is likely to be interference from a device in your system, or the AC power itself. Try using a Furman or an Odyssey rack mount power strip which will smooth out your power source, that may help.
